Hi eds,

Just wanted to pick your brains a bit. Apparently Adrien Silva's registration was 14 seconds too late according to Sky. Do you guys know what will happen now? Will he remain a Sporting player and move to Leicester in January, or will he be a Leicester player but unable to play for them until January? Or perhaps will FIFA make an exception (personally think that's unlikely)?

Also, just as an aside, what do you think of Adrien Silva as a player and will he be a good fit for Leicester/ the Premier League?

Appreciate that's a lot of questions, so thank you in advance :)

He is a Leicester player, but one who is unregistered. If it was getting close Leicester and Sporting should have asked for an extension but didn't. They will appeal and should win. Milan and Spurs dropped the interest they previously had, but he is certainly an adequate player. }.

Thanks a lot, Ed, that clears things up. Have a good day :)

Shakespeare has just been confirmed as the new manager, apparently on a three-year deal.

Do you think he really had 'influence' over the refs as well? It's a popular conspiracy theory where I'm from that that is why he's won so much. Thought I might take this question to the United page but I think I might get slaughtered for asking this!

{Ed001's Note - to a degree the team did get favourable decisions, all big clubs do at home anyway, but he was very good at putting pressure on officials, which made them think twice about giving decisions against his team. You not only had to worry about the players in your face intimidating you as an official, you had Fergie cornering you and giving you the 'hairdryer' treatment too. All managers try and do it, he was just better at it than the rest, until Jose came along anyway.}

Hi ed001 if you are around,

Appreciate that I'm replying to this quite a while after the article was posted, but thought it was a really interesting read. I just have a question on how did Alex Ferguson manage to win the league so many times? I'm not a fan of his (considering I'm a Liverpool fan) but there's no denying that he managed to win 13 titles (I think, not 100% sure on that) with United, which is more than what most clubs win in their entire history.

Cheers for your time and opinion

{Ed001's Note - number of reasons, amongst them more money than the opposition at a time when money was more important than ever, a youth system that was well developed for him to inherit. Good man management of his players, good coaches to work under him, an excellent scouting system to spend the money available. All of these being comparative to the rest of the English league. Basically he was very good at his job and backed with resources and talented help. Oh and he was always willing to move with the times and adapt, which was why he had such longevity.}
